EU Home Affairs Funds for the programming period 2021-2027

The EU Home Affairs funds comprise three funds for the programming period 2021-2027:

  • The Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF)
  • Border Management and Visa Instrument (BMVI)
  • Internal Security Fund (ISF)

The funds promote efficient management of migration issues, contribute to a high level of security in the EU, and support integrated border management and a common visa policy.

In Finland, managing authority of the funds is the Ministry of the Interior, which is also responsible for monitoring and supervising operations supported by the funds. The calls are organized and operations must be realized in Finnish or Swedish language.

The Ministry of Finance acts as audit authority for the funds during the programming period 2021-2027.

Total budget allocated to Finland during the programming period 2021-2027 is approximately EUR 187 million.

At EU level, funding allocated to the home Affairs Funds for programming period 2021-2027 is approximately EUR 18 billion. In addition, approximately EUR 11 billion of the multiannual financial framework is dedicated to EU Home Affairs agencies.
